DESCRIPTION
A thermowell is a pressure-tight, closed-end tube designed to house a temperature sensor, such as a thermocouple or RTD, and protect it from harsh process conditions. A thermowell safeguards against corrosion, abrasion, and high pressure while allowing sensor replacement or maintenance without interrupting operations by acting as a barrier between the sensor and the process medium.
TYPES OF THERMOWELLS

- Threaded Thermowells: Screwed into a tapped pipe or adapter for easy installation and removal.

- Socket Weld Thermowells: Welded into a weldolet socket or directly onto the pipe wall for a secure, permanent fit.

- Weld-In Thermowells: Directly welded to the process vessel or piping for robust, long-term applications.

- Flanged Thermowells: Equipped with a flange collar that mates with a corresponding flange on the process line, ensuring a tight, pressure-resistant connection.
APPLICATIONS
- HVAC systems for protecting sensors in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
- Industrial piping and vessels where high pressure, temperature, or corrosive media are present.
- Commercial refrigeration and cold storage systems for accurate temperature monitoring.
- Petrochemical, chemical processing, and refining industries require durable sensor protection.
- Food processing, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic production where precise temperature control is critical.
- Power generation and other process industries where maintaining sensor integrity is essential.
